quotes I don't think it's the old Clips vs Flats chestnut so much as destroying the myth that steep, technical, muddy, rooty DH courses with little pedalling favour flat pedal riders. Danny Hart, Greg Minnar and Aaron Gwin have blown that falacy clean out of the water. Flat pedals and clips can inspire both poor and good technique but that's down to the individual, not the pedal. Then again other than Sam Hill how many flat pedal riders have consistently won world cups?

quotes Never heard of MBA but they didn't get that right, utter rubbish. Sounds like typical MTB magazine nonsense where they slate clearly superb bikes and give great reviews to the big companies who pay for advertising. There are absolutely no issues with the rear end of the Dixon.

quotes I have the 2011 Dixon and bought the frame only to build up. With a very aggressive build (DH tyres, 750mm bars, Gravity dropper, heavy duty brakes etc) it still only weighs in at 31.5 lbs for size large. So when riding uphill it rides like a super efficient lighter bike but really my Dixon is built for the descents. On paper I wanted something a little slacker and with a lower bottom bracket than the Dixon but my HA with revelation 150s measures 66.5 degrees and the bottom bracket feels just right and doesn't continuously catch my pedals on rocks. I got around the ISCG mount issue by using a stinger that I bent in 2 places and used an extra spacer on the roller to avoid changing my chainline, it works flawlessly. The quality of the bearings and fittings is sensational and exactly what you need when you live in northern Scotland and constantly ride in mud and rain. Finally I had the RP23 PUSH tuned and the end result with the DW link is outstanding. This bike is just as happy on a Scottish downhill course as it is on a Scottish mountain and everything in between. If I could change anything from the 2011 it would be: ISCG mounts A slightly lower bottom bracket so I could fit non lowered 160s if I wanted and not bring up the BB too much A raw finish to make it super durable! But they are very minor points, make no mistake this is a bang up to date, truly superb mountain bike.

quotes Strange to see someone like "Chazdog" being so negative towards someone like DW, what was the last contribution you made to MTB? After 22 years in MTB I have singularly failed to design a single MTB component or related item as I am not clever enough to so for me people like DW/Devinci are top drawer. Never had a DW link before my Dixon (or really knew anything about them) but have owned some incredible bikes over the years and the DW/Dixon is genuinely a superb machine. DW/Devinci.....you made a superb design for the riding that I do here in northern Scotland, I couldn't care less about patents and science, it just works, well done!

quotes I have had a custom build Dixon for a few months now. It is setup correctly with aggressive kit (wide bars, DH front tyre, dropper seat) and PUSH tuned RP23. It feels fantastic and absolutely nothing whatsoever like a single pivot but maybe the RP23 resolves any issues. I run some hefty brakes (Hope Tech m4) so I can brake the same way I do on my DH bike ie. scrub speed off at the last moment before a feature and off through the feature, as such brake jack is not noticeable an issue. It is extremely efficient on some very big climbs (+3500' Scottish mountains) and very aggressive (long, low, 66.5 degree HA) for descents. 31 lbs, size large, DH components and dropper seat. The build quality is very high and the quality of parts like bearings is superb with the added bonus of "hand made in Canada". I can't comment on the science of "Split Pivot" but I can tell you this is a superb bang up to date trail/enduro bike that can be ridden very hard all day both up and down the mountain and for me that's what a modern MTB is all about.

quotes Seems strange to me. If you set the tension screw it physically prevents the mech getting anywhere near the frame. Not sure what is going on with yours but my Saint goes nowhere near the frame.

First ride on it was this past weekend at a race, savage bike, really comfortable on it after a few initial set up runs. Came 3rd in my category so really happy with it. sizing is very good too, medium would have been too small.

Hey man, thanks for the advice about the sizing of the shocker a few weeks ago, went for the large and built it up at the weekend, check it out. http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/4866910/Did you have problems with fitting the LG1, I had the bb and chain guide mounting bracket off many times.
